Iodine stops viruses in their tracks, killing them on impact. That is why after an operation you are always left with a little brown stain where iodine was used to clean the area before incision. I recommend, to my clients who are isolating or those scared of viral infections, to use iodine in a variety of ways in their daily routine. HOWEVER, it does have to be used with care.
