Why detox?

Pollution coupled with pesticides, insecticides, fertilisers, food additives and antibiotics has resulted in a build up of toxins in our bodies. These need to be excreted from the body to prevent an increase in free radicals raging around our body causing disease. Our liver, whose job is to remove impurities from the blood and process them for elimination, can become overloaded and when it does the toxins just build up in our bodies. 21 day detox programme

Whatever your disorder or condition, or even if you feel that you are in good health, this 21 day gut healing detox will kick-start your return to the optimum health you deserve. Our gut microbiome suffers due to toxic environments, nutrient-stripped foods, and a stressful, sedentary lifestyle. This suffering results in an unhealthy balance of good and bad bacteria, which ultimately impacts every system in the body.

To help detox the body and heal the gut, I offer a 21 day detox programme which includes a supply of clinically formulated nutrition for the microbiome. Probiotics, vegetable proteins, and many other powerful ingredients combine to promote detoxification, cleansing, and balance. What to expect?

A detox day

The detox meal plan is protein-rich and packed with phytonutrients (the best antioxidants). This plan ensures that you eat the proper amount of nutrients your body requires each day with a balanced blend of protein, carbohydrates, and fats, as well as vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from plants.

Detox friendly foods

Eat these microbiome-friendly foods for snacks and meals to maximize your detox success.

Dairy - Unsweetened almond and coconut milk, kefir, vegan cheese

Fruits - Berries are okay but not to many apples, apricots, bananas, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, kiwi, mangos, melon, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pears, pineapple, plums, tangerines - these are all quite high in carbohydrate

Legumes - beans, peas and lentilsAgain, these are quite high in carbohydrate so not too many

Protein - Fish, shellfish, beef, lamb, poultry, wild game, eggs, tofu, tempeh, seitan, nuts and seeds

Seasoning & Condiments - Dry and fresh herbs, all spices, mustard, lemon and lime juice, salsa, vinegar, soy sauce

Vegetables - Fresh lettuces and greens, such as spinach and kale, artichoke, asparagus, bamboo shoot, bean sprout, beet, bok choy, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, fennel, garlic, green bean, leek, mushroom, okra, onion, pepper, radish, scallions, shallot, snap pea, squash (not too much), tomato, water chestnut

QUICK TIPS

Stay away from all potatoes, all grains, caffeine, alcohol, fruit juices, sports drinks, and fizzy drinks. Drink plenty of water.
